Flowering trees are frequently used in landscaping city streets and business campuses, providing nectar for bees, seeds for birds and shade for humans. Unfortunately, the results of the new report show that systemic neonicotinoids are commonly used in tree production and could be a major source of exposure for urban pollinators.
A new study by Friends Of The Earth shows a decrease (only 23 percent) in “bee-friendly”home garden plants sold at top garden retailers. These plants have been pre-treated with pesticides shown to harm and kill bees, indicating that some stores are selling significantly fewer plants treated with neonicotinoid pesticides than in 2013 and 2014 (when more than 50 percent of plants tested contained neonics).
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT NEWS FOR THOSE WHO ARE MORE LOYAL TO NATURE THAN TO SHORT SIGHTED PROFIT MARGINS?
San Francisco is poised to plant close to 50,000 tree saplings this year and next. Almost every one of those trees will be treated with Systemic poisons like Imidacloprid. That makes 50,000 nuclear bombs for any bird or insect that takes a seed or a sip of nectar or a bit of pollen.
BAYER HAS CREATED A SYSTEM OF PESTICIDES THAT MAKES THE ENTIRE PLANT POISONOUS POTENTIALLY FOR 3-7 YEARS. Systemic pesticide is the reason bees, birds and all beneficial insects are dying.
we are forcing nature to eat poison. and if they're eating, we're eating it.
